Parabolic solar cooker is the device that entraps solar radiation and focuses it at a point to generate heat upto 300 degree celcius. A study was done to remove the costing of fuel required to boil 1 kg of potatoes. It was estimated that about  Rs 2.69 is required if LPG is used and Rs 5.37 is estimated if commercial gas is required. Fuel cost for parabolic solar cooker is zero. Accordingly trials were conducted and the parabolic solar cooker was given to ‘Jai Yogeshwar Mahila Bachat Gat’. Boiled potatoes were supplied to local hotel. The parabolic solar cooker costs only Rs 4000 and it is manufactured at Vigyan Ashram.
