इन्फ्रारेड (IR) थर्मोमीटर चा वापर मुख्यतः एखाद्या वस्तूचे तापमान मोजण्यासाठी करतात. विशेष म्हणजे यावेळी त्या वस्तूला स्पर्श करण्याची गरज नसते ,यामध्ये असणाऱ्या  IR सेन्सर  द्वारे आपण ज्या वस्तूचे किंवा पृष्ठभागाचे तापमान मोजायचे आहे त्यासमोर या गन ला योग्य अंतरावर  धरून हे मोजता येते. पण बरोबर  मोजमाप येण्यासाठी इन्फ्रारेड (IR) थर्मोमीटर योग्य प्रकार हाताळणे गरजेचे आहे. इन्फ्रारेड (IR) थर्मोमीटर काम कसा करतो ? प्रत्येक वस्तूमधून  इन्फ्रारेड ऊर्जा उत्सर्जित होत असते . इन्फ्रारेड म्हणजे विद्युत चुंबकीय तरंगाच्या (Electromagnetic waves ) रंगीत पट्या  मधील तांबड्या रंगा खालचा विद्युत चुंबकीय तरंगाचा पट्टा कि जो आपल्या डोळ्यांना दिसत नाही. हि ऊर्जा प्रत्येक वस्तूमधून म्हणजेच माणसाच्या शरीरामधून सुद्धा बाहेर पडत असते व त्या वस्तूचे किंवा आपल्या शरीराचे तापमान दाखवत असते. या ऊर्जा बाहेर टाकण्याच्या क्षमतेला  Emissivity  (उत्सर्जन क्षमता) असे म्हणतात. COVID19 solutions : Face shield

Considering the current situation and spreading rate of COVID 19 virus it’s become challenging to provide medical preventive instruments/ resources to each social worker  and infected persons. Even its huge burden on all suppliers , manufacturers  to make these safety instruments available in a short time. To maintain this demand vs supply ratio global fablab community decided to start an initiative to collaborate in this global cause with providing low cost solutions which are easy to fabricate with local available resources and in short time. Vigyan ashram also taken part in this initiative started making face shields using fablab resources. Up to yet we crossed 6000+ face shields  distributed in local health care centres , Police departments and to social workers. All they demanded for this and Vigyan ashram fablab team taking day/night efforts to fulfil this need. Currently we’re manufacturing 400 shields per day with taking care of all medical constraints. Why Face shield ? Face shields are personal protective equipment devices that are used by many workers (e.g., medical, dental, veterinary) for protection of the facial area and associated mucous membranes (eyes, nose, mouth) from splashes, sprays, and spatter of body fluids. These shields are helpful to minimize direct exposure of healthcare practitioners to respiratory droplets maximize the lifetime of N95 masks / respirators. TRICODERMA VIRIDAE STREAKING ON PDA PLATE

In ‘Vigyan Ashram’s ‘ microbiology lab, Tricoderma viridae is multiplied, made powder of it, packed and sold to the Farmers & also used by the agriculture department students within the Vigyan Ashram. Tricoderma is an very effective bio control agent for the crops. Hence it is in demand among Farmers, Gardeners and all people involved in agricultural Section. In order to produce Tricoderma Powder, first we have to inoculate Tricoderma on the sterile substrate, allow it to multiply on it. For inoculation we require pure Tricoderma viridae strain. When we plated the Tricoderma powder which was made in Ashram on PDA; it was observed that along with Greenish growth of Tricoderma viridae, some unwanted growth (unknown) was observed. So the need was raised to isolate pure form of Tricoderma viridae from the powder. To isolate Tricoderma viridae from the given powder sample by Streak plate method.
